What does an NYS court officer make?

NYS court officers enter the NYS Court Officers Academy as trainees at Judicial Grade 16. After successfully completing their training of two years, they are promoted to Judicial Grade 19.

Since 2020, the salary for these two grades can range from $51,000 to $81,600. In your first year, you are eligible for 20 paid vacation days. By your seventh year, you get 27 paid vacation days a year. You also get 12 paid holidays, health insurance, retirement benefits including a pension, and a deferred compensation option. There are also a few work engagements planned for evenings or weekends, so you get to enjoy a healthy work-life balance as a court officer.
