NYC Sanitation Worker: This 2 session course will cover the entire scope of the NYC Sanitation Worker Exam including reading comprehension, understanding written material, basic math and following rules and regulations. In addition, we will educate you on the scope of the very competitive NYC Sanitation Worker Physical Agility Test.
Our classes only cover materials for the specific exam you are taking therefore; there is no wasted study time. You will be given a booklet of 40 to 50 pages at each class with specific questions geared only towards the exam you are taking. Our classes will also give you information on the entire hiring process such as the physical ability exam, the psychological evaluation, the background check and the oral interview. There are classroom instructors that can answer any questions you may have and each instructor has been hand picked because they have graduated through the ranks in their fields by being outstanding exam takers. Our school has been preparing candidates for these exams for over 45 years, in fact, we are the only school doing so.
We do not recommend study guides because many of them are compilations of many different civil service exams in one book and the materials can also be outdated. Each agency or department gives a different type of exam, so if you a purchasing a study guide for “Police Officer” then that book can have sample test questions from Police Exams around the county rather than specifically New York, and it may not apply to the exam that you are trying to prepare for because each police exam is different.
We provide our students with booklets full of exam practice questions and helpful information on each day of class.
No, you must apply for the exam on your own during the filing period. The filing period is a specified month-long period of time where anyone interested in taking the exam can fill out the exam application form.
The filing period for the Sanitation Worker Exam has been scheduled for June 8, 2022 through June 28, 2022.
If you miss a class at your designated location you can make it up at any of our other locations but you must make sure you are going to the correct lesson number 1, 2, or 3 at that make up location so that you obtain the correct materials.
No, you can only take one class for each lesson number at your designated location or a makeup location. You will not be able to retake a lesson that you have already taken.
If you are going to miss a class completely you should email our office at customerservice@civilservicesuccess.com and explain that you will not be able to attend the class at all and we can email you your lesson so you can work on it before the next class date. If you have any questions we recommend coming to the next class a little early for the instructor to answer any questions you may have.
Usually you won’t hear anything from the agency in which you are taking the exam until about 2 to 3 weeks before the exam itself. You should receive a letter in the mail from the appropriate agency telling you when and where to appear, what to bring and what not to bring with you to the exam, etc. If you do not hear anything 2 weeks before the exam we recommend calling the appropriate agency so they may mail or email you a new notice.
Upon passing the civil service exam and meeting the minimum job requirements you name is added to eligible lists of applicants and ranked according to test scores. When a job vacancy occurs, the hiring agency will call applicants from that list from the highest test score on down the list. If you are ranked high enough on the eligible list you may be contacted by the hiring agency for an interview, physical and psychological exam.
